<p>The 2004 Bathurst 1000 was won by Greg Murphy and Rick Kelly, driving the Kmart Racing Team Holden VY Commodore. Held on 10 October at the famous Mount Panorama Circuit in New South Wales, the victory marked Murphy’s fourth Bathurst win and Kelly’s second, as well as their second win in a row as a driver pairing.</p> <p>Although Murphy didn’t repeat his famous 2003 “Lap of the Gods” shootout performance, the pair still started the 2004 race from a very respectable fourth on the grid.
