The addition of exclusive Spektrum Smart components including a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery and charger make it more convenient to charge properly and safely (battery and charger sold separately for the BNF® Basic version). And you have the option to easily upgrade to SAFE Plus GPS-enabled technology that offers features such as AutoLand and Virtual Fence, along with the option to install the Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) that automatically "flares" for smoother landings, to make learning to fly—and to land safely—easier than ever!</p> <p>The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes everything needed to fly in one box, and is the perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot. From the Spektrum DXS 2.4GHz transmitter you can use with other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) and BNF Basic aircraft after you learn to fly the Carbon Cub S 2, to the 3S 2200mAh Smart LiPo battery that delivers long flight times and the convenient S120 USB-C Smart charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources, there's nothing extra you need to buy or provide! A BNF Basic version is also available for experienced pilots who want to use their favorite Spektrum transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own. And in the unfortunate event you damage any airframe parts or components and can't repair them, a full line of replacement parts is readily available.</p> <h3>Easy Assembly</h3> <p>The Carbon Cub S 2 arrives mostly factory-assembled with the power system, servos plus the flight controller and receiver installed. All you need to do is finish some quick and easy final assembly, without the use of glue or special tools, and you'll be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!</p> <h3>Versatile Gear Options</h3> <p>Thick grass, gravel paths, dirt trails; you can fly from these and many other surfaces that are impossible for most models of this size to handle. The robust landing gear is equipped with oversized tires that soak up the bumps of rough surfaces and provide excellent prop clearance. The optional float set (sold separately) takes just a few minutes to install and all the necessary hardware is included with the aircraft and float set so you can fly from lakes and ponds.</p> <h3>Optional Flaps</h3> <p>Functional flaps are an option for improved slow speed handling and even shorter takeoffs and landings. This feature requires a 7+ channel computer transmitter plus a flap servo and a servo extension (sold separately).</p> <h3>Optional Landing Assist Sensor for Smoother Landings</h3> <p>The Spektrum Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) is easy to install and provides automatic "flare" control to help inexperienced pilots "grease" landings by minimizing or completely eliminating bouncing (works over many/most surfaces and provides optimum performance when flying over/landing in grass).</p> <h3>Easily Upgrade to SAFE® Plus GPS-Enabled Technology</h3> <p>With quick and easy installation of the optional Spektrum GPS Module you can add next-level autonomous guidance features that make it even easier to learn to fly. With SAFE Plus added you get:</p> <p><strong>AutoLand</strong></p> <p>Activated by simply holding down a button, the advanced AutoLand function puts the airplane on a stabilized approach to land on its own near the GPS initialization point. You can even provide some directional guidance to avoid obstacles or to adjust the approach while letting the system do the rest to execute a safe landing. As your skills progress and you gain more confidence you can take over more of the control inputs, eventually learning to land without any assistance from the automated system at all.</p> <p><strong>Holding Pattern</strong></p> <p>This very helpful SAFE Plus-exclusive feature essentially allows you to "pause" the flight by putting the airplane into a GPS-guided holding pattern. When activated with the quick press of a button, the airplane will automatically return to a position above the GPS initialization point and circle until the command is cancelled with another quick press of the button. It's a great way to safely hand the controls off to a friend or to regain visual contact if you ever lose sight of the model.</p> <p><strong>Virtual Fence</strong></p> <p>It's easy to accidentally let an RC airplane fly too far away, but with Virtual Fence, worry no more. It creates an invisible boundary the airplane won't fly past. When the airplane reaches this boundary, it will automatically turn around and fly back toward the GPS initialization point. Based on the extremely popular Timber 1.5m model but featuring a new wing design, oversized control surfaces plus a 3S and 4S compatible power system, it offers an even wider flight envelope to deliver a truly “mild to wild” experience. Hollow-core EPO construction with composite reinforcement results in a lightweight yet strong airframe that's capable of handling extreme aerobatic maneuvers while keeping the wing loading low for impressive Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) and slow flight performance. It's also equipped with high-torque, metal-geared servos plus the shock-absorbing landing gear of the original model so you can fly as aggressively as you want from almost any surface. You can even install the included leading edge slats for improved slow flight performance, or the optional floats (EFL5261, sold separately) so you can fly from water. Add in the LED landing, navigation and strobe lights plus many of the other popular features of the original, and the Timber X is a model almost every pilot can appreciate and enjoy!</p> <h3>Plug-N-Play® Completion Level</h3> <p>This Plug-N-Play (PNP) model comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos that are ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately). Simply install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!</p> <h3>eXtreme Maneuverability</h3> <p>The Timber X 1.2m features a new wing design with a shortened span plus much larger ailerons and flaps, along with an enlarged elevator and rudder. Double-beveled hinge lines make it possible to deflect every control surface, including the flaps that can now travel in both directions, to high angles for outstanding control and eXtreme 3D aerobatic capability. Pockets in the rear of the fuselage and the included optional-use steel stabilizer joiner give you additional options to fine-tune the model's performance for even wilder 3D setups- or on low rates the controls can be as smooth and docile as they are on the original so you can fly as mild or as wild as you’d like!</p> <h3>eXtra Power</h3> <p>The factory-installed brushless power system features a 50-amp ESC plus a specially-tuned motor and prop that deliver an abundance of thrust with a 3S LiPo battery, or eXtra power and vertical performance with a 4S battery without the need for any modifications or upgrades.</p> <h3>eXtremely Durable</h3> <p>Composite-reinforced, hollow-core construction with EPO material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe.
