Here’s a captivating product description for the U-Boat Type ‘Molch’:
**Unleash the Shadow: The U-Boat ‘Molch’ – A WWII Naval Legend**
Step into a world of clandestine operations and daring raids with the U-Boat ‘Molch’ – a truly exceptional artifact from the heart of World War II. This isn’t just a submarine; it’s a whisper of German naval ingenuity, a testament to desperate innovation, and a tangible link to a pivotal period in history.
Originally designated “Thomas II,” the ‘Molch’ emerged from the desperate need for a nimble, coastal assault force. Production began in July 1944, and over 393 of these remarkable mini-submarines were built at the Deschhimag shipyard in Bremen.
Imagine the tension as a single, courageous crew member – the “Molch” (German for “newt,” a fitting name for this stealthy predator) – navigated the treacherous waters of the Mediterranean and North Seas. Equipped with a single electric motor, the 'Molch' achieved a top underwater speed of 5 knots and a maximum depth of 60 meters, allowing it to infiltrate enemy lines and execute crucial sabotage missions.
These weren’t hulking warships; they were ghosts in the sea, part of the elite “K” special sabotage formation. By the war’s end, over 140 harrowing trips to sea were logged, each one a testament to the bravery and resourcefulness of the German forces.
Own a piece of naval history. The U-Boat ‘Molch’ – a fascinating collector’s item and a powerful reminder of a bygone era. Don't just study history, experience it.

30 years have passed since the first release in the now-famous 1/700 Water Line Series. The manufacturers involved in this endeavour have now begun to replace their old kits with newly-tooled models. Kagerou is the main ship of the Kagerou-class DD, and fought several battles, most notably the battle of Tassafuronga. The Kagerou-class DD was the latest design of the IJN fleet destroyer, with improved speed, longer cruise range, and powerful armament. Aoshima's new kit meets today's molding standards and the design itself reflects recent research, depicting the ship's early form (from 1941). The kit on the whole blows away the quality of older versions of the same kit!

Type VII U-boats were the most common type of German World War II U-boat.

The Type VIIC was the workhorse of the German U-boat force, with 568 commissioned from 1940 to 1945. The first VIIC boat commissioned was the U-93 in 1940. The Type VIIC was an effective fighting machine and was seen almost everywhere U-boats operated, although its range of only 8,500 nautical miles was not as great as that of the larger Type IX (11,000 nautical miles), severely limiting the time it could spend in the far reaches of the western and southern Atlantic without refueling from a tender or U-boat tanker. The VIIC came into service toward the end of the "First Happy Time"[Note 7] near the beginning of the war and was still the most numerous type in service when Allied anti-submarine efforts finally defeated the U-boat campaign in late 1943 and 1944.
