P.B.R. Mk.II Pibber: U.S. Navy River Patrol Boat – Vietnam 1/72 Scale Model

24.00 $
**Unearth the Legend: The Patrol Boat – A Shadow in the Mekong** Step back in time to the chaotic heart of the Vietnam War with the iconic Patrol Boat – a crucial, and often perilous, workhorse of the River Patrol Force. These rugged, rigid-hulled vessels, officially designated as Riverine or PBRs by the U.S. Navy, weren’t glamorous, but they were absolutely vital. From March 1966 to 1971, over 250 of these boats pounded the rivers and waterways of Southeast Asia, forming the backbone of Task Force 116 and Task Force Clearwater. Imagine yourself navigating the tangled network of the Mekong Delta, the Rung Sat Special Zone, and the Saigon River, relentlessly searching for enemy weapons shipments. These PBRs weren't just patrol boats – they were frontline warriors, frequently embroiled in intense firefights with Viet Cong soldiers both on the water and ashore. More than that, they were integral to Navy SEAL operations, providing a swift and discreet insertion and extraction platform. And let's not forget their crucial role alongside the legendary 458th Transportation Company – the “458th Seatigers” – solidifying their place as a legend of the Vietnam War. Own a piece of this history.

Trumpeter 05375 1/350 French Light Cruiser Georges Leygues

50.00 $

La Galissonnière class light cruiser is the French navy's decision to use "Emile Bertam" as the basis, combined with heavy cruiser "Algeria" protection design, at the expense of sacrificing the speed of the defense capabilities built by the World War II France Lightweight cruisers. La Galissonnière's excellent hull shape made its actual speed exceed the original design speed of 31 knots, reaching 32 knots, of which the Marseillaise Tracks had tested the speed reached 35 knots. After the outbreak of World War II, the level were assigned to join the third cruiser and the fourth cruiser team, which also laid the ship of different fate of the future class. The George Leygues of the Fourth Cruiser fleet was dispatched by the French government of Vichy to the coast of Gabon, Central Africa to counter the activities of the free French army in Central Africa but was intercepted by British cruisers and fled to Dakar Harbor. After the Allies landed in North Africa, George Leygues joined the Free French Navy in fighting the German and Italian troops. In mid-1943, George Leygues traveled to the United States for a large-scale conversion, dismantling aviation equipment and hangars to greatly enhance air defense capabilities. In the second half of 1943, the refitted George Leygues went to the Mediterranean Theater to participate in the battle. In 1944, he participated in the Overlord Operations, the Normandy landing fire support mission, and the Dragoons landing in southern France.

Features

The kit contains over 400 parts

The hull made from two-directional slide molds

Contains display stand

Photo etched parts included

Specifications

Model Brief: Length: 513.1mm Beam: 54.4mm

Total Parts: 400+

Metal Parts: anchor chain

Photo Etched Parts: 2 pcs

Total Sprues: 12 sprues , hull and deck

Aoshima 1/700 I-400 Japanese Submarine – Build Your WWII Fleet!

9.00 $
Unearth a piece of WWII naval history with the Aoshima 1/700 scale I-400 Submarine – a formidable warship and a technological marvel! Launched in January 1944 amidst the escalating tensions of the Pacific War, the I-400 was a true behemoth, one of the largest submarines ever built, dubbed a “Submarine Cruiser” for good reason. At 122 meters long and displacing a staggering 6,560 tons, this vessel was a terrifying blend of firepower and stealth. Initially armed with eight 533mm torpedo tubes, a single devastating 140mm gun, and four 25mm cannons, the I-400 was engineered for maximum impact. Innovative rubber plating and ingenious grills allowed her to operate silently beneath the waves while powering internal combustion engines – a truly revolutionary design! Her combat career, though tragically brief, was a testament to her audacious spirit. Tasked with a daring suicide mission against the Panama Canal in May 1945, the I-400 ultimately targeted the US Navy anchorage at Ulithi Island, sending her Aichi M6A1 Seiran floatplanes on a desperate, final strike. Captured and meticulously examined by the Americans after the war, the I-400 met her end in the Hawaiian waters on June 4, 1946 – a poignant conclusion to a legendary vessel’s story. **Now, bring this incredible piece of naval history into your collection!** This Aoshima 1/700 scale model kit boasts: * **Detailed Waterline Hull Model:** Accurately recreates the I-400’s imposing silhouette. * **2x Aichi M6A1 Seiran Floatplanes:** Included for realistic detailing. * **Authentic Weaponry & Accessories:** Recreate the I-400’s armaments. * **Clear Illustrated Instructions & Decals:** Makes assembly a breeze. **Don't just build a model – build a legend.
